Whats going on politically right now.. the nice up the people vibes of course. Why you ask; becuase election is gonna call latest next year so of course everybody wanna seem like they were busy for the entire term. Here are a few things I plucked to talk about

Portia’s plan to clean up ja previous to world cup cricket. Good idea i say however as the opposition pointed out after that clean up plan which i thik the budget was 635 million (WOW!!!!!!) whats gonna happen to the 1,200 job positions that its gonna offer after that.. I guess just like always they’ll be apart of the  unemployed population yet again..

Mr Golding brought up a very interesting topic that i couldn’t stop reading till i finished it. The abandonment of downtown kingston by business places and the “up town folk”. This is definately an issue which needs to be addressed. The nations capital is by far the most disgusting thing in the island I hate going to work because i gotta go down town I wish the gleaner was located elsewhere. The desertion of Downtown kingston just can’t be blamed on the deserters though but the conditions which led to the act of deserting.

Kingston could be defined as the capital area of crime and violence in jamaica it stinks like horrid stenches, broken down buildings garbage everywhere and it goes on and on in that manner.

Mr Golding has proposed the continuation of Past Jlp leader Edward Seaga’s city plan and i quote Mr Golding

“If elected into government, Leader of the Opposition Bruce Golding says that the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) will revive a masterplan by his predecessor Edward Seaga to redevelop the city of Kingston, also to include Port Royal.”

I realized that it was a real shame. money spend on the domain, the hosting got setup but i simply wasn’t paying the site anyattention so I took yesterday night into the morning setting up photoja.net its all redone there is no joomla in the mix this time as it really just wasn’t necessary this time were running coppermine photo gallery which honestly seems to be lightyears ahead of gallery2 in its design. gallery2 just proved it self userUNFRIENDLY. Most of the users hated it and eventually stopped uploading photos till they eventually started uploading photos to my animeforums and thats when i realized its a real shame and i gotta do something about it. I bought this semi cool mp3 player the iriver T30 and i honestly loved it upon till the point wwhen i just started using linux and i pluged it in and nothing happend. I realized that i madde a big mistake in researching the device i didn’t check if it was plat form dependent.. the damn thing was dependent on windows media player or it would not work. if media player 10 was not present on the machine then you could not sync mp3s to it it would not even pick up the device at all.

My resolution was to sell the device and purchase a flash based mp3 player maybe a sansa or a muvo but then i got wind of a firmware upgrade software directly from iriver that allows conversion from MTP to UMS (USB MAS STORAGE - just like a thumb drive).

Finally did it at work today as i have no computer running any microsoft anything… on disconnecting the device it said please do not touch installing new firmware it rebooted i pluged it in to my nix book and bam there it was. So now i’m good to go.

Ontop of that my dear sister offered me an ipod (shufflel) but still its an ipod and its free so I accepted should be getting it some time next month.

I feel kinda crappy for not knowthing this :(…. my favoured content management system is now 1 year old. In any event HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOOMLA

I realized it last night my battery led on the notebook began to blink and i checked the power remaining from the gnome-power-notification package which i will refer to as g-p-n from now on.. and it said 100% i’m like wtf is going on.. did a few checks and restarted still nnothing it always starts with the corret notification tho meaning if it is plugged in it starts showing that it is plugged in or starts saying its charging and if its plugged out its starts showing its running on batteries and the actual life of the battery but it doesnt recieve any updates after that to make changes to the g-p-m status in the panel.. i dont think i did a hal upgrade recently and i remember having a problem where my system dbus and or hald, where they started after my g-p-n i fixed that by putting the dbus shell exec command in my session startups and it worked perfetly..

So referring to my previous problem i proceeded to remove the dbus shell exec comand or rather disable it…. It solved nothing… So I still need to figure it out..

So you just did your ubuntu install and you setup your favourite media player be it amarok for you kubuntu people or xmms or bmpx (bad ass player) and your there twiddling your thumbs wondering whats wrong i know whats wrong.. theres no music to play jackass… this is wha tyou do

pull up a terminal:

sudo apt-get install sun-java5-bin

when thats done you download the forstwire deb package for ubuntu from frostire.com

back to the terminal:

sudo dpkg -i  Froswire-x-x-x-ix86.deb

then after that you wanna configure your java by doing this in the terminal:

sudo update-alternatives –config java

select the 3rd option and in case they decide to move something around your looking for the number that corresponds with this :  /usr/lib/j2sdk1.5-sun/bin/java

aftere that you should be able to start frostwire and download at your hearts content.

My moms a teacher and from time to time she asks me to do some word processing for her aka there’s no computer at home but my laptop (i need to fix this). So she asks me this morning plz type a document for me and i thought immediatly open officce.. grrr the doc type for word is gonna be like office xp they’ll be running office 2003 and then formatting issues will arise so i simply openned up writely and proceeded to do her documeent when i was finished i was able to save as 3 filetypes .doc, odt (openofficce), or pdf. i chose to go with all 3 plus there’s a copy in my writely account sos there are 4 copies in the event that something happens to any 1 there are backups. writely rules. office should be worried google is where the world is heading to.
