On the room, you could go for a mint green, or a faded look with Orange (not too bright) at the top and fades as it goes down to the floor into a yellow or you could reverse the colours with the yellow at the top into Orange. If you want a traditional boy room, go with a blue, not baby blue and not navy blue just the right blue, kinda like the colour of the links on this blog.
