I disagree with: Statement of middle class. This does not exist in Jamaica anymore. You're either upper class (rich) or lower class (poor). Loans are accessible from the Student Loan Bureau. I know for a fact that if you are from a home with at least one person working, you will not qualify for the loan. So, it can be had by the poor. Truth is, as you said, no one wants to go to school anymore or learn a trade or skill. It's all about getting rich quick and there are only 2 ways to do that: win the lotto or crime and violence and since winning the lotto harder, crime & violence wins out in the end. As bad as America is, I respect their treatment of political figures whose conduct is unbecoming of a leader. That's the problem in Ja. No accountability for anything and we the poor people just continue to pay through our ass. When will we learn?? You make some very good points. I disagree with:

The corruption at the top needs to be dealt with first before any serious attempt at curbing the crime problem can be made. And good education has to be attainable to everyone. I agree.
