Let me re-Iterate, He was wrong, I not picking up for him What he did was wrong. They parted ways he got his punishment. So whats this for now. the man cant even sell out small venue’s now star. She fully frig him career. I always say it. Dont date inside your industry. Its cute, and unuh get along and unuh have nuff in common and shit but it ain’t smart man. It typically ain’t smart… Well especially in music. somethings are acceptable but music,entertainment, acting.. VERRRY BAD IDEA.!!!

The olympics is over and I’m really glad. I’m happy for my country I’m proud of my countryman and women performance in the olympic games but what i do wanna see is how the jamaican’s will behave after the olympic phases out and life returns to normal. before a few weeks ago quite a few jamaicans probably didn’t know the national colors but then all of a sudden their flags everywhere. Will they all remain proud of the country even in its down times?? i really wonder. Lets wait and see.

On sunday the 30th of march I hauled my ass out of bed and hit the streets at 11:00am with the intention of covering the jamaica carnival and bacchanal road march for 2008. I missed the bacchanal people at their start point. I had intended to leave ith them as i was based in mona from saturday night. I high tailed it to worthington avenue in new kingston and waited from 11:30 to about 2pm when the bacchanal group made their way from eden gardens around the bend onto trafalgar road. the shooting then began. I got some really great images, One thing i know for sure is i found the sweet spot with the 2 lens’s i mainly used. I worked the crowed from there on sstraight to the intersection at YMCA. on arriving there i had totalled my 2 gig cf card. (was shooting in raw format). I swapped to my backup 1 gig and then headed to half way tree road with the intention off grabbing some  shots of the Jamaica Carnival march.

One thing i can say for certain the Jamaica carnival gets a zero the bacchanal march gets a 10. The jamaica carnival group was extremely boring. I shot them as they passed (was in the streets with them just like i did with the bacchanal group) and I got no energy from them at all, most those images i just parked.

After they jamaicca carnival group passed i hightailed it to york pharmacy bought 2 bottles of water and finish them in like 30 seconds (i’ve been running off a king sized snickers from 11 in the morning). I decided there that I might as well head back to mona. i headed to the new buspark wehre they had a music setup and a huge crowed there. then shortly after i heard the chants of carnival revellers. it was the bacchanal group again *YAY*. I geared up once again and got in the streets with em and started shooting once again. By this time i had to switch from raw files to medium format jpgs. I rolled with the bacchanal grup from the halfway tree buspark all the way back into new kingston and down knutsford boulevard. making my final stand in the isle inthe middle of the road (infront of burger king). after the crowd decipated and i got a shot of a bad ass hot rod car I called it a day and headed back to mona.

For this day my gear consisted of my Rebel XT, sigma 70 – 300mm telephoto lens, 50mm canon f/1.8 and my trusty could not do it without it opteka battery grip which allowed me to shoot all day with out the sightest battery problem   and now for what you all have been waiting to see. The images.

Things aren’t that great for the folks in the dvd business in jamaica. Bootlegging has gone to limits that it has never seen before. Everybody is selling illegal dvds. On my way to work this morning i counted 11 dvd vendors on the street side each having what looked like over 200 dvd’s thats approximately 2200 illegal dvd movies for sale. These guys are selling for 100 – 150 per copy. They are seriously nawing their way at the profits of the industry.

Proof, ViewersChoice2000 is now a dead entity. The company closed down shop and sold out all its dvd’s in house. Today is the final day of the sale. I copped a crap load of anime from them last week saturday .

The RIAA might really be making a trip to us soon. But thats right after they’re finished with the pirate bay captain.

This kid in mandeville got the crap beat out of him for being gay. Found the story on the new york times. It paints a not so great picture of the island. makes us sound barbaric in some sense but I mean if you dont condone something you just dont condone it. I’m not sure how I feel about the situation. I know want no part of the homo sexual thing… However it might and probably will negatively affect the island in terms of business, and how the people are viewed.

Well its officially been announced the day of the sevens was the day that we were told that election time is on the 24th of august (if memory serves me correct). I’ve been hard at work workin on the Jamaica Gleaners Jamaica General Elections 2007 Coverage Website. The outcome is really nice. There was a disastrous accident today 4 people died instantly. The collision was between an executive class buss and a red hatch back honda civic. The scene was nothing short of a nightmare on elmstreet movie. Heads flattened. Limbs bent back and totally detached from bodies there literally was parts Everywhere. Please Becareful on the roads both drivers and pedestrians. You may be the best driver but the person that might crash into you might not be. (hence the crash).

The cricket worldcup 2007 really begins. i could feel a lil extra traffic on the road this morning and saw quite a few tourist buses’ rolling around with.. well tourists, probably shuttling em to the event at sabina park. As everybody should now know I’m in no way a fan of cricket. However i do have something to do with it on a whole from a web stand point. Here’s what i been up to at work lately.

Manning cup and Dacosta cup feels like a demon that i’m fighting with and man its a losing battle i’ve never done a more boring and disgusting job.. i wish it would just go away but thats not how the demons of our work world works is it. Just gonna have to try and overcome it with somee holy code eventually.

I haven’t really been blogginb much maybe its because i’m not happy at work anymore.

But enough with the sad part, I’m now a hereos addict and i cannot wait till tomorrow to see the new episode. and i’ve decided to build a pvr so i can record th episode and watch em when i feel like.

linux wise, i finally upgraded to edgy eft it took me long enough right. only thing that happened on attempt was gnome kept crashing so i had to use fvwm for a bit until i figured out  a way how to open gnome within fvwm (by starting the gnome session locted in /usr/share/xsession/gnome/gnome.session) then i disabled the compiz startup and  a few othrs that i had to set to get it working now i’m back in a real desktop enviroment (kde is rubbish fvwm sucks and nothing else matters really).

currently everything that used to work in dapper works in edgy i did not have to redo my wifi setup with ndiswrapper which i had to redo when i upgraded from breezy to dapper. and thats about it really.

oh one more drama, scotia puts on a car show yearly at the national arena right i was told it was this saturday so me and a lady friend were supposed to hit the spot she wanted to do highlights from the event for her website “http://yaadrides.com” however right before i laced up my shoe to leave the house i got a call from her saying “um.. its next week, there’s a jlp convention going on”.. then i looked dodwn on my shirt (orange shirt) thinking omfg i would have died today walkin into the arena filled with green sporting a bright orange shirt (no i’m not a partisan person) and frankly thinkg both the parties governing and opposition should be sent on a one way ride to hell. bruce is evil and the current government is rubbish..

Yeh i love this phone. its small its neat its cool its a eye catcher i love it. after owning a qtek 9090 i just felt for having a small phone i could hold in the palm of my  hand. now i got large hands so i really could hold the qtek in the palm of my hands.. well sorta but you get my drift. the 6111 doesn’t boast any as cool features as the qtek and it kind of irks me that it has no memory card expansion slot but other than that i have no problems i’m in my room making calls a thing i could not do with the qtek.. signal was a bitch. thanks soukie (chick that sold me the phone.. love ya)
