I finally had to install media center yesterday for the sake of watching an anime tsubasa chronicles my notebook was giving a bit of trouble when i tried watching it. funny thing is the dvd which it was burn on was multi sessioned so.. xbox wont pick up ne ting on the dvd seems like its blank. how annoying. I’m gonna test out teh pimped edition today though when i re-watch gunslinger girls

I’m not impressed by the demo’s i’ve scene. they really dont look that different from xbox but this i’m aware should be expected. as the technology is know the developers have being toying with the xdk for awhile and probably still doesn’t know its efficiency and defficits as well.

Yep the box was modded forgot to confirm it. And its working great, I need to install xbox media center as soon as I get back home. I got some pretty cool skins as well, yep animated skins. Like the fights from animatix and some other stuff, its really hot. I’m gonna need a bigger xbox hd like asap cause currently it seems more than half of my hd is already being used up so i’m gonna have to get that dealt with other wise i’mgonna have to burn a copy of all my games etc. Which I cant be bothered with at times fr the emulators etc, I”ld rather just throw em on the hd.

So far I’ve owned 3 Smartphones Nokia ngage, Sony Erricson p800 and the palm Treo 600 the pest of the three definately was the uiq P800 the treo did wonderful as a pda but failed as a Phone, This is my take on the Whole Smart device issue. I’m thinking; Get a pda with bluetooth and the works [ this def includes Wi. Fi. and when on the road i'll route gprs to the pda via bluetooth on my t610 which i unlocked to both networks so i'll be able to pop my cable and wireless chip in [ affordable gprs ]. Then Get another phone for my digicel chip [ a nokia 1100 a.k.a the flash light ] Will do well for this. And thats it.
The draw back with this plan is I’ll Still be using the Palm os which wasn’t very fun [ treo experience ] I gotta admit i love symbian, Where palm has power symbian has popularity and growing power. The userbase for palm won’t be as large as symbian, And from the looks of it cellphones are the device of the future sony got smart and jumped out of the pda market And pretty soon other companies might follow suit. So in the event that I totally move from the pda route I Think I”m gonna end up with an ngage as a temporary smart phone until i can afford a Sony Erricson P910i.

Firstly, I bought a xbox to usb-female converter. I figured out that the action replay/datel max drive et al are just xbox formatted memory keys so a traditional PC formatted memory key should work with the converter. And it did! Be sure to use a blank memory key as the xbox will format it, once formatted you can use this hacked action replay program to transfer the ‘crafty’ savegame to your xbox. if you have a action replay or datel max drive… etc you still have to use the hacked program as the savegame won’t transfer with the bundled software.
I used Splinter Cell, but you can use Agent under fire and Mechassault too.

Formatting the memory key

All you need to do is connect a blank PC memory key to the usb converter while the xbox is on. Access the memory management screen in the Xbox dashboard, select the memory card, an error message will pop up when the xbox tries to access it, something along the lines of “unrecognised card, it has been formatted”. Great! now exit the menu and turn off your xbox. Connect the Xbox formatted Memory Key to your PC. DO NOT access it via explorer as Windows will try to reformat it. open the hacked Action replay program and it show up in it. All you need to do now is drag and drop the ‘crafty’ save game into the memory card window.

UPDATE: Not all memory keys are compatible, check here to see if yours will work. (Cheers Furbs) NB: This list isn’t complete and is regulary updated. If your key isn’t compatible, i reccomend you buy datel max drive which range from aorund £15, gameplay has them for 17.99 + delivery. Have a look on Ebay, I’m told you can get them cheaper there.

To aquire the crafty savegame…

download Softmod Installer Deluxe v2.0 (torrent). All ‘crafty’ save games are included and follow the FAQ included, or use this guide. FYI This is what i did:

- Transferred the 2 splinter cell crafty savegames to my memory key via the hacked action replay program
- copied the files from the memory key to the hard drive using the memory management section in the xbox dashboard
- loaded up splinter cell
- loaded the crafty savegame
- xbox resets with the Softmod menu
- backed up my current MS dashboard (option given Softmod menu, nothing diffucult)(This lets you reinstate the normal xbox dash so you can use xbox live)
- installed Softmod
- installed evoultion-X (which came with dvd2xbox and a dvd player preinstalled!)
- reset xbox
- w00ted! \o/
- Connected Xbox to PC via Cross over network cable
- Setup FTP (the xbox uses 192.168.0.2 un:xbox pswd:xbox by default you can change it via EvoX if you wish)
- w00ted! \o/
- transferred emulators, proggys etc… (e:/apps, e:/games)

The FAQ will explain how to do all the above in easy to understand language, it is impossible to fuck this up, anyone with basic PC knowledge can do it.

Where to aquire apps and emulators
Priotic mentions an FTP access where he aquired his save games, they also have loads useful apps and emulators,

If you need any emulators, i can email them to you. You will need Xbox Media Centre to play divx, mp3 etc… a torrent for it should be availble on most torrent sites or xbins.org. It’s a brilliant program it’s able to stream movies to your xbox via your home network!

I’m definatly gonna do this but the question now is where am i gonna get splinter cell from and which one it is i’m not sure, Agent under fire or mechassault. Of course its gonna have to be the old ones as mircosoft has obviously made changes to correct the exploits. The hunt is on.

Yup the treo has started to act up like a kid who’s just going through puberty. It now drops phone calls like bad habbits or bad girlfriends. Doesn’t seem to have any good signal reception especially when in closed quarters [indoors] Yup this phone has been giving me a warm time. The fix from what I’ve been reading and by word of mouth is asimple battery change. sounds odd doesn’t it, I’ve yet to get the schema of how a treo works. what decides signal streth etc.. What I do know however is when the battery is fully charged the probability of me picking up a signal is closer to 1 than when the batter is below half. Therefore there might be some bit of truth to th change battery fix treo reception problems thesis.. I’m gonna look into it some more and if i do decided to get a new battery, I’m going extended life time so i can get say 1 entire day out of the device with constant
