Monday was my first day of school. so far.. i must say.. very lame, lets hope it gets better. Monday was some management behavioural theory class. anybody that really knows me knows i’m not 100% into that kind of stuff. However I’m gonna make my best effor to pay attention and without a shadow of a doubt pass. Lets back it up a bit though to immediately before my first class. I went up there on monday afternoon and asked to speak with the program co-ordinator for my bsc in IT degree re me recieving a late call 3 weeks into the semester to pick up my acceptance package, long and short of it is she wasn’t having me in the program at this time.. “its too late sir registration have already been closed off” I on the other hand was adamant on the fact that i MUST start school now, I’ll make up for what I have missed on my own time, I cannot sit out another year. After about 15 minutes of this she finally let out a sigh and said. “Alright.. i’ll let you in.. against my gut feeling”. I showed gratitude and said she wouldn’t regret it, I”ll make the school loook good :D.

Now for my class.. hmm i dunno.. I know 1 person in the class i was kinda hoping a i knew non.. I perform better scholastically with strangers.. (no one to converse with). There are about 3 girls in the class that picked up on my interest radar immediately (no names you shall hear from these fingers :p). Lets see how that goes If i’ll be blogging about any of the 3.

My Shedule - I have classes on mondays, tuesdays, and thursdays (thank God today is wednesday = go home and sleep). work stops for me at 4:30 provided there isn’t an emergency or some script that i was working on that i just cannot leave as is. School begins at 5:30, the distance could be traverse in 1 hour. However factor in jamaican traffic and you get an impossible task of being early for school. So far I’ve been late for my first 2 classes and i figure this might be a trend that I can do nothing to change.

Another thing that I have taken up on my head again is my Lpi certifications (linux professional institute certification of system administration). I have got a new book.. (chm file of course) and i’m thinking of buying the real thing on amazon or get some one to buy it for me (do i hear any offers: email me :D). Lpi has nothing to do with my job function but its personal I just want it, Linux has impacted on my life and how i do things in quite a few ways hence the reason for my complete switch from microsoft technologies to opensource technologies (linux - flavor of preference debian based Ubuntu). I really wish my pocket pc was linux based too but whatever i guess.

A few things that i need to figure out with my current linux book (ubuntu on my dell e1505 notebook) setup are:

1. Ipod syncing - Yes I’m aware of gtkpod however it doesn’t work well for me.
2. ttys - multiple displays meaning ctrl + alt + fx (fx being f1,f2,f3 through f7) each displaying a different x server where you can run different sessions simultaneously.. sadly only the default f7 works.
3. multimedia card reader - my card reader will not pick up anyting but sd cards no mmc, no memory stick , no xd
4. Samba - I need to clear my samba files or probably do a full re-install of it. There was some curruption done by me the last time i configured it so right now there’s not much networking going on with my system from the stand point of someone trying to see me on a network (i can see em just fine). I think is the samba pdc Db that i need to re do.

halo, halo, halo. some wendy’s and more halo.. and that was about it. but with how the weekend went i honestly didn’t feel to go anywhere else. tgif on friday with the jodser old friend that flew in, haven’t seen her in a while it was fun. then saturday it was tgif with roxanne javion and blindz. which led to idling untill a 5:30 movie (i was upset about that btw.. felt like a kid at with all the jail bait running around at souvereign). the guy whoo organized the movie apparently didn’t know that you dont watch a flick at souveriegn after you pass 17. we watched “the pursuit of happiness” staring will smith. Very good movie. its got tear jerkers, comedy and honestly gives you a strong sense of value for everything you have. Makes me think.. i take alot of shit for granted ykonw.. God bless all that we have.. we are really privileged people compared to others. after leaving the movie we linked up with ashley to play kalooki “some card game” which i came 3rd in out of 5 people.. its a fun game.. kinda takes long but its fun. retired from the saturday flex about 3:30 on sunday morning.

Its now 11:38 and all the gunners (halo players) have already filed out.. new years sex i assume. Sadly I hav no significant others… and i guess that the girls i would be with are with their “real boyfriends”.. i need my own woman.. email applications to “gtaylor.sama (at) gmail.com”.

how exciting right… my so called life.

So i woke up on saturday to a error page for my domain name. Checked the server company support forum, and bam there it was. my server that i host on was down for systemm checks and they found some corrupt logs and backups they actually did a full reinstall of the os.. (redhat). long and short is. i lost a few weeks from my server. eveerything that i host on my domain was reverted. to maybe 2 - 3 weeks. i lost like 3 blog entries i think. and they were so flipping long too i’m so pissed :(.. so i’ve decided. i will do a replica of my blog locally. then.. when i get the chance i update the live blog. cause this some real bullshit..

yeh.. the one thing in life i can probably always count on to be there when i need it music. hmm maybe anime too. really sad when you think about it. so i got a few albums lately of the set i’m hooked on incubus’s light grenades and panic at the disco a fever you cant sweat out.

from incubus’s light grenade anna molly has me in a daze.. i need to lean to play that song some day.. sigh… wont even go down the road of my sad tale of learning to play the guitar.

fall out boy is kinda up there in my most played songs right now too. and i’m still jamming to a little audio slave (revelations) every now and then.. the ipod shuffle my sister gave me definatly came in handy (thanks onie chan). I gave my cousin the iriver t30.. so he’s using that. i’m not sure if i’m gonna sell it cause he looks so happy with it.. so bleh he can keep it i guess.

on the anime side of things.  i’ve been watching getbackers.. an anime i got a while back at animesynergy.com’s anime trading day 2 or 3 i think.. but never really got around to watching it. its pretty interesting but not enough to keep me up till 3 in the morning watching.. which is good i guess so i can wake up in the morning ot go to work :D.  kiba is also getting very interesting too so is deathnote. I currently have no internet at home so i’m behind in most of my series. however i’ll be on a 3mb connection for the weekend so i’ll pull down everything i can to bring my self as up to date as possible.
hmm on the matter of me.. there really isn’t that much to speak of. pay day is a week away. i’m flat out broke at the moment from making tshirts for my website. long story dont wanna explain. my needs + wants for the christmas total a wopping $128,000, and thats excluding some things that i really wanted to get to tell you the truth like my psp :’(.. anyway..

I plan to do a pimp my room project. but i’m not so sure how much pimping will actually occur based off cash restraints that must be implemented. I have school in january so thats a gay ass school fee that i’ll have to deal with. might end up paying it monthly instead of all at once.

the pimp my room project will probably start out with painting and mounting my television on the wall. thinking of buying a new bed as well *wink wink*. i kid.. but its apart of the project. thats all i think i might do for the moment untill i see the extra cash to do more.

might also buy a little surround sound setup for the tele for when i watch my anime and movies :D. I need help picking colors for the room so gimmi some suggestion if anything. i’m going with a flat color i dont really like the look of glossy paint when light hits it. and i’m kinda going for a cool color.. kinda like web 2.0 cool colors. light / bright / cool colors. suh suggest away.

what to say.. i’m not necessarily the most verbose person in the world.. born and raised in jamaica never flew out of the caribbean a day in my life only been to cuba.. not from a rich family nuff struggles gwaan in the i-an-i life.. i guess this might be well known that i’m a web applicaiton developer not necessarily the greatest. um.. I loved slim chicks but have recently be converted to the thick side. yeh. thick chicks rule :).

I hate crowds alot. dislike going any event or venue that i know will be extremely crowded.. and typically thats everywhere so i guess you could just say i hate going out. I do not have many friends it is a word i dont use freely so if i call you a friend then you know you definatly a cool person. I have not been in a solid relationship for maybe 2 - 3 years.. just 1 nighters.. :’( what can i say man love hurts its safer for my heart this way.

reading,  music and anime are my escape from reality whenever i’m in a bad mood i can just pick up any of the 3 and get lost in it.. and forget about whats bothering me. I have 1 best female friend right now that really means alot to me if i could have it my way (bk or is it kfc… i dunno) i’ld wanna be in a relationship with her, love that girl (that i just cant have).

um.. illness’s i haven’t really been sick much thank god for that. i haven’t broken ne thing as a kid and only got a few cuts from falling off my bicycle when fooling aroudn with the brake in the hub trick.. and my roller blade yeh.. i was like an x-gamer.. pulling 360’s and all of that. till i almost split my head open.

i hope i got out more at least 5 things about me that were’t known. And on that note (bloiiee) stunner your it.

my dog passed on yesterday i’m unaware of what time.. i came home at 12 midnight and heard the news.. I honestly was shocked. and despite her being a niusance to me in her life time.. i actually miss her.. no more early morning annoying wake ups from her licking my toes. (i actually woke up late this morning because she wasn’t there to do it). I dont even really wanna talk about how she died.. :’( i think thats it for me and pets.. i dunno if i’m gonna get another.

Manning cup and Dacosta cup feels like a demon that i’m fighting with and man its a losing battle i’ve never done a more boring and disgusting job.. i wish it would just go away but thats not how the demons of our work world works is it. Just gonna have to try and overcome it with somee holy code eventually.

I haven’t really been blogginb much maybe its because i’m not happy at work anymore.

But enough with the sad part, I’m now a hereos addict and i cannot wait till tomorrow to see the new episode. and i’ve decided to build a pvr so i can record th episode and watch em when i feel like.

linux wise, i finally upgraded to edgy eft it took me long enough right. only thing that happened on attempt was gnome kept crashing so i had to use fvwm for a bit until i figured out  a way how to open gnome within fvwm (by starting the gnome session locted in /usr/share/xsession/gnome/gnome.session) then i disabled the compiz startup and  a few othrs that i had to set to get it working now i’m back in a real desktop enviroment (kde is rubbish fvwm sucks and nothing else matters really).

currently everything that used to work in dapper works in edgy i did not have to redo my wifi setup with ndiswrapper which i had to redo when i upgraded from breezy to dapper. and thats about it really.

oh one more drama, scotia puts on a car show yearly at the national arena right i was told it was this saturday so me and a lady friend were supposed to hit the spot she wanted to do highlights from the event for her website “http://yaadrides.com” however right before i laced up my shoe to leave the house i got a call from her saying “um.. its next week, there’s a jlp convention going on”.. then i looked dodwn on my shirt (orange shirt) thinking omfg i would have died today walkin into the arena filled with green sporting a bright orange shirt (no i’m not a partisan person) and frankly thinkg both the parties governing and opposition should be sent on a one way ride to hell. bruce is evil and the current government is rubbish..

bleh just the drama mix with my views and what i been up to lately.. till next time.

I stood angrily listening to some distrubed (ten thousand fists in the air). For the 45 mintues i stood at the bustop only one bus had passed and it was going to halfway tree, i work down town. so i stood and i waited and waited and waited. and waited. and i could kill a jutc driver this morning i would but that would be a mindless killing. i should kill the minister of transport and the prime minister (old one) maybe new.. i dunno.. but dammit star the bus situations stinks. Finally about 8:10 am i got a bus right. and i had to ride on the bus step to down town kingston. It took me a whopping 1 hr to get to town which is a 10 minute drive away. we wen via the HIGHWAY!!!!!! which should speed things up.. sigh…… on the bustep there were 6 additional people 7 including my self. can you imagine what an uncomfortable ride that must be.

how cruel is the life of the lower middle class in the island of jamaica..

So sunday was kinda an odd one for me very unusual. i had my movie date sunday morning actually around 6 in the morning home girl showed up, we watched then just chilled till like 12 maybe 1pm before she left so she spent 6 hours with me.. it was fun.. best sunday i had in a while just chatting random shit. I sold the qtek like when she was leaving. and then proceeded to mona to pick up the 6111. when i got to the bus stop i relized all the buss’s were not going to halfway tree or downtown they all had the letter “b” attached to their route numbers finally i stopped one asking whats the deal they said its a new system that happens on sundays and on public holidays, only shuttle bus’s run in the city and they take you to a central station where you wait for the bus which is going to your destination. total bullshit. believe me wasted a lotof time waiting at the “central station” i was so annoyed i could kill everyone out there but then that would really solve nothing. so with the horrid jutc bus system the disgusting wait and then the annoying highway regulators i ended up reaching mona about 6 and i left my house at 3 and it was a SUNDAY where ther weren’t many vehicles on the road but because of the highway morons there was a traffic line.. yaw on a flipping sunday.. lucky i left my gunz at home that day they were.

with regard to work.. monday was kool i kinda did a good amount of stuff on manning and docasta cup the commenting system is finally live where people can comment on articles and itwill be shown for approval on the backend for the administrator of the site. all thats left is the pointstandding calculation and then i’m done with that site and unto an even more annoying task, which i will make childsplay of more than likely.. today i also got a really annoying client off my back who had problems exporting an mssql database and kept annoying me but finally it has been done (had to do it my self) and the person should no longer be calling me.
