Death to the Flu virus

, , |

Today august the 18th 2008 I’m almost recovered from my deadly encounter with a new strand of the flu virus. I was sneezed on on wednesday and by wednesday afternoon i had contracted the virus. I couldn’t go to work on friday because i was in such bad shape. I had to dope up the whole weekend. vitamin c, cetamol the works. most of the symptoms have faded but a slight caugh still remains. I hope i’m not extremely contageous cuz i’m gonna brave it and head in to work right now as a matter of fact cuz i got so much stuff to do.

What i find really funny is the person that sneezed on me didn’t actually get the virus. He was just a damn carrier. He probably arleady caught and recovered from that strand of the flu virus…. you know what i think the flu may be the death of man kind.. cuz it just keeps mutating. What other virus you knwo yoru body can cure and you end up getting it back even after your body create an antibody for it.. only the damn flu..

This part of my life is called “TIRED”

No Tags |

MAN I’M SO TIRED.. i’m falling asleep at work like crazy.. The reasons behind me being tired has me wondering as well. Emotionally its worth it. but the damage I’m doing to my body… This is definitely a bad idea… Anyway So many things has happened in the tech world, the photography world and everything I’m interested since the last time I’ve blogged. Way too much for me to cover..  but lemme touch on a few i guess.

I’ve started toying a bit more with off camera lighting. The results are astounding. why did they even build hotshoes on camera’s in the first place. lol.

The 3g Iphone released.. yayyyyyy.. who gives a shit. I’m still not an iphone fanatic, htc touch pro will pwn your ass stevie boy… yeah… speaking of iphones Miphone got a mention on internationaly reknowned tech site Engadget in the mobile section as the license iphone dealer in Jamaica. Whats odd is Miphone isn’t 3g… As yet that is Now that they’re owned by slim I’m sure were gonna see some big things. Slims got the money to do it.. so lets kick back and watch competition do what it does best. make shit cheaper for us :D .

The flickr group got together the other day and we took a trip to the St Thomas Light house. Excellent trip might i add. I was able to stay connected while out there in the wilderness via my htc tytn :D and my unlimited gprs internet sim card from cable and wireless (thanks cw. digicel is a dirty mother fucker and should die for now having this feature). I got some awsome images fromthat tripl. and eagerly await the next flickr group roll out.

At a friends birthday party recently i broke a lens… Tear :’(… while switching it to get a shot of a girl getting “cocked up on a table”.. (its what happens at parties apparently) the lens fell.. my beautiful 50mm f1.8 II lens.. My heart ached…  but its cool.. i got a sigma 28 – 70mm f2.8 coolness.. what sucks is that i cant use an infrared filter with the new sigma so i might have to repurchase the 50mm f1.8 :( .

Purchased a new camera bag yesterday cuz my crumpler cant manage the gear anymore. I have to leave stuff at home which i sometimes need wich fracking sucks so i got the canon 200eg delux bag. Hopefully it’ll get here by friday. I honestly want to upload some photos… but the gallery component i use is broken and apparently there’s no fix for wordpress 2.5.x

So much on the plate

No Tags | tags: , , , .

You know when you just have tooo much things doing, yeh thats me currently. Operating a young business, Photography, Freelancing, Full time job, Learning everything (photography, programming, marketing, PR skills, interpersonal and communicational skills) the learnign never ends. Trying to find a suitable girlfriend. All this while still relying on public transportation. It is hard as hell yo, but life isn’t hard, I should be starting edna manley school of arts for a photography course in september this’ll make things even harder, I’m having second thoughts but i’m definitely gonna do it one way or another.

On the female counter part issue I thought i found her but i may still need to keep searching it seems. To love and not be loved in return is a horrid thing, anyway moving on. on the physical activity side of things there’s been badminton and a new addition to the mix Squash. (not so sure I’m gonna like it) first squash game should be this thursday.

I’ve been on an extended blogging vacation but lets how that I’m actually back.

Nervous before the shoot

No Tags |

In a few minutes maybe an hour the most I’ll be photographing a curvey model. Boudoir Photography is the aim of today and apparently one of my favourite types of photography. The female body truely is an beautiful piece of artwork. Today I hope to deliver some stunning and dramatic images to the client. Just need to calm down quell this nervous feeling and snag the shots then have her on her way so i can do my post processing. Overall I think everything should be fine. I’ve planned in advanced as to what i’ll have her do and so on. So as soon as i start racking up the exposures I’ll feel normal.

And the photoshoots ensue

No Tags | tags: , .

Last saturday was a lot of fun.. and headaches.. My first photoshoot that didn’t take place at my home in my little makeshift studio. The set was Hope Gardens and i think i did pretty well. The model was such a sweetheart. She was patient with me. and didn’t mind doing what i told / asked her to. as a result i got some greaet images. I only posted 2 for the world to see.

Very abstract and contrasty image.. I love it I cant thank her enough for taking the time out of her day to spend about 5hrs with me to do a shoot around hope gardens.

More equipment

| tags: .

I recently purchased some more photography equipment from my online sources. I got a backdrop support system which when fully extended cant fit in my room at all. A softbox a new eyecup and a filter kit. Also I got a 8 card capacity memory card case from my sister (thanks sis). Currrently I just have a fwe more things left to acquire

  1. canon 70-200 F2.8 IS L or  SIGMA  70-200 F2.8 DG APO MA
  2. Tripod [ impact tripod / 3 way pan head ]
  3. bogen manfrotto monopod
  4. SEEMLESS BACKGROUND PAPER
  5. studio strobes
  6. FLASH STAND

those 6 items are quite costly but I do intend to acquire them. The photostudio is looking quite nicely so far.. There’s an extra room in my house i was contemplating using but.. I’m not so sure how well that’ll go.

Events.in876.com 2.0 has emerged.. @ Emerge Expo too lol

No Tags | tags: , , , .

This weekend was super busy. The highlight of the entire weekend for me was the emerge expo which took place on Saturday at the Hilton hotel ballroom. Quite a few companies were present. The Jamaica Observer, Evideo, Fenntech just to name a few. I was clearly there for events.in876.com . The event was open to the public at 12:00pm around that time there was some freakish ninja rain that just came out of no where like hurricane force stuff. As a result we were all worried about the turn out but that became non existent in about an hour or so (the worrying), as we were too busy explaining to people the nature of the product (events.in87.com) the benefits and the snazzy new features of our version 2.0 (throws digital confetti in the air). Take a look at the features page and see how beefed up the system has become. Events.in876.com clearly means business keep an eye out for them in the media. The site has been completely re vamped and truely delivers the content and showcases features the way we originally had intended.

Among the other companies that were there i think i liked the Fenntech booth the most. They had some big ass tv’s yow and when i say the resolution on those things were pimping i make no joke or overstatements it was sharper than my laptop monitor.. now think about that sharpness at i dunno the 40inch range. Sweet and guess what they didn’t have 1. There was 1 attached to a laptop and the other to a gaming rig. Their booth got a lot of user interest (video games) and tech heads. There were performances by cezar, and Lenya and the entertainment / hosting was handled by Elva (man that woman is crazy.. in a good way though). There were prizes an give aways from quite a few company. an acquaintance (just met her that day, she’s a friend of a friend) won digicel’s blackberry pearl (the Wi-fi version). It was a good event though. really good. The promoters who held it I’m sure saw a few flaws and I’m sure they’ll get it proper the next time around
